Dig for Foundation

Today, worker came to dig channels for laying out foundation. The builder told me that he will have the meeting with the house owner next Monday. That will be the final floor plan go through meeting. After that, nothing can be changed theoretically.

The Lot

This new house is located at the dead end of this street(cul-de-sac). From the layout of the board, we can tell it will be a two story house. Looking at front, the two car garage will be at right hand side. This house is facing north.

Electricity Pole

Yesterday, worker came and put a pole on the front corner of this lot for electricity. It is a temporary installation. When the house is ready for electricity connection, this will be removed.

Last weekend, there was no one work on this lot. There was heavy rain Monday. The lot is a kind of wet now.

Mark the land

Today, three groups of people came and work on this lot. First group, two workers came to measure the land and mark the land. Second group of 7 people got here put stacks on the four corner of the land and and lay out the outline of the foundation with board. Third group, one man arrived with several tools and found the electricity line, gas line and phone lines; and mark the lines with red paint and yellow paint.

According to builder, there are 12 steps to finish building one house. Each step takes about 2 weeks. It will take about 24 weeks to finish it.

From the layout of the board, we can tell the house is neither wide nor long. This house is the last one to be built on this street. It will have the best view since it is at the end of the street. Outside of the community wall, there is a treeline alone a small creek. The land in front of the treeline is a kind of narrow and owned by the city.

Start to build a new house

About two month ago, builder told me that someone selected this lot and started process of building a house on it. Today, it is started to level the lot. The worker took about one hour finish the leveling.
